History in Sleepy Hollow

I’ve a small obsession with the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.  I took a walk through the historic cemetery recently.  At the edge is this gorgeous old church that is still in use.

Rivaling my love for Sleepy Hollow is my deep affection for Major John Andre.  Can’t we just get past it all 230 or so years later?

A portrayal of Andre’s brook with bridges.  A beautiful structure.  It is said that Patriot’s Park is haunted by John Andre, particularly in the early morning hours.

Alongside the bridges, this beautiful tree.

I looked around trying to figure out how the scene of events unfolded here, and how the landscaped looked at the time.  Presently, it’s a pretty busy street and while time stands still in this spot, it’s warp speed all around.
